On Obama's bogus campaign contributions vs. Sarah Palin's clothes (Update: Issue gaining traction)
Topics: Political News and commentariesSurely there are many of us that share kathryn Jean Lopez's line of thinking:
"Shouldn't all those bogus Obama donations be at least as much of a story as Sarah Palin's clothes (the latter currently a front-page story in the New York Times)?"And just how is it possible that the Obama campaign could receive donations from fictional people and places? Taking this question a step further, how is it that the media give him a total pass while choosing to attack Sarah Palin's clothes? What am I missing here?
Think about it. Obama's campaign actually has less safeguards to make sure that the card holder's name and address match the name provided - than your local Texaco station.
Perhaps, as Jim Geraghaty notes at the above link, when you're gathering up tens of millions from the Saudis and Gazans you have to be a little lenient on matching up credit card donations.
Update: Obama Credit Card Campaign Finance Fraud Gains Tractionand The Address Verification System has to be specifically disabled to allow this fraud

Also, we never got an explanation for so many contributions that ended in odd cents.... apparently from conversion from foreign currencies.

Todd has a damned good point - especially in light of the plethora of blog posts today on Obama's fraudulent campaign cash.
