Obama's Associations Do Matter
Topics: Political News and commentariesDespite the cries of "personal attacks" from the Left, the Obama media, and the Messiah's campaign, and despite the McCain campaign's unwillingness so far to adequately address Obama's past and present associations, Obama's associations and relationships are an important and fundamental issue for voters. And of all the commenters who've written about this issue, Mark Levin does the best job of concisely identifying just how far from the mainstream of rational thought Obama's past is and driving this point home while stressing the importance of this message getting thorough to the electorate:
You can read Levin's entire piece here.[...] Re ACORN, Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Frank Marshal Davis, Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour, Rashid Khalidi, Raila Odinga, and all of the assorted leftists and figures of ambiguous or veiled allegiance that form an unbroken chain throughout Obama's life, it is not a question of "palling around." It is a question of shared worldview. The only candidate who has surrounded himself with and befriended a freak show of racists, anti-Semites, and America haters is Barack Obama. This isn't guilt by association. These are Obama's life experiences. And you'd think it would be more problematic than a few people in an audience shouting out some nasty things about Obama.
[...] It is the tactic of the Left to shout down such efforts or demonize the messenger. John Lewis was Obama's perfect surrogate for such a ploy. It is also their tactic to redefine terms and misuse the language. So, we have the situation where raising Obama's relationship with racists is said to be racist. I understand this, and I understand Saul Alinksy. But it must be done and done effectively. This is not to say that this is the only course of conduct for the McCain campaign. There's actually so much out there for McCain to focus on that his failure to do so in a coherent way is frustrating as hell - including explaining the destructiveness of Obama's extreme big-government beliefs and proposals, should they be implemented.
That these are an issue should be a no-brainer for voters with average intelligence or higher, however, for whatever reason (or the lack of it - emotion thereby being the motivation for voting for Obama), far too many seemingly normal voters just haven't put it together yet - they haven't even tried to connect the dots that shout so loudly that Obama's past history - including the wide dark holes of information that have been so completely hidden about Obama's "lost - from disclosure - years," and his poor judgment and poor choices of associations and relationships do in fact matter about his character and judgment now and in the future.
What is desperately needed now is for McCain to be a leader and jump out in front of driving this message home to the electorate. So far, we've gotten nada, zippo, or mediocre messages. McCain either does a better job of explaining the real Obama and the clear differences between his past and policies and those of Obama, or he might as well fold up his tent and go home.
Like everyone realizes now that hasn't been stupefied by the Obama stagecraft and slick empty rhetoric - with different messages to different audiences at different times - McCain does indeed want to change Washington, but Obama wants to change America - and change it to be freedom's nightmare.
