Newt Gingrich On Media: 'Not A Shred Of Neutrality - Like Watching Pravda'
Topics: Political News and commentariesNewt Gingrich ripped CNN on the Greta Van Susteren show for the egregious out of context quote from Byron York's piece at NRO that was repeated to her during a recent interview, for no other reason than to "hurt her feelings" and to distort what conservatives are saying about her. Gingrich subsequently goes nuclear.
In this excerpt from the transcript of CNN's Drew Griffin interview of Sarah Palin it is clear that he misquoted Byron York's NRO piece:
CNN: Yeah. Governor, you've been mocked in the press. The press has been pretty hard on you, the Democrats have been pretty hard on you, but also some conservatives have been pretty hard on you as well. The National Review had a story saying that, you know, I can't tell if Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt or all of the above. Palin: Who wrote that one? CNN: That was in the National Review, I don't, have the author. Palin: I'd like to talk to that person.Clearly, it was either a deliberate hit job on Sarah Palin or incompetent reporting, there is simply no other explanation. And since CNN refuses to apologize and correct their error, one can only assume that the misquote was purposeful.
