Sarah the Riveter
Topics: Political News and commentariesLet's start the day with something light:
This lady has earned the right to be portrayed as the image implies. Besides all her many professional attributes, there's this from the Chicago Tribune (via PrestoPundit):
Wasilla Mayor Keller laughed at [concerns about the size and age of Sarah Palin's family], saying that when Palin gave birth to her fourth child the then-mayor displayed the same drive that helped the Warriors win the state title 26 years ago.Sarah Palin is clearly a modern day version of Rosie the Riveter. For readers who may be too young to know about Rosie:"She had Piper at night," Keller said. "And she was back at work the next day."
(from Wikipedia) Rosie the Riveter is a cultural icon of the United States, representing the six million women who entered the workforce for the first time during World War II[1][2], many of whom worked in the manufacturing plants that produced munitions and material. These women took the places of the male workers who were absent fighting in the Pacific and European theaters. The character is now considered a feminist icon in the US, and a herald of women's economic power to come. Rosie and her slogan "We Can Do It!" were featured on posters, magazines, and more.

Alfonzo's post is actually and ad. I'm going to allow it to stay up - only because I like what he's selling. On the other hand, Alfonzo's a bit dishonest - if he wanted a free ad he should have asked for it, otherwise, he should be paying for what he is attempting to get free.
He's lucky we're easy - but we won't be so generous next time.
