Did I hear this right? Obama commenting on HIS Muslim faith?Topics: Political News and commentaries
I have "nada" links to source this other than this Free Republic link, and I believe it's too soon to comment much about this, if it's for real. However, here's what's posted on this at FR:
Freudian Slip - "My Muslim faith..." - ObamaHere's the video:

Barry Obama has slipped on his own faith by saying "John McCain has not... talked about... My muslim faith"
Of which Stephanopolous carried the water and corrected him by saying "Christian faith".
I think this is a VERY telling freudian slip by Barrack.
I'm not sure what to make of this and context is certainly needed here; any ideas out there? After all, without seeing the entire clip we don't know if he was in essence admitting to his Muslim faith or was referring people saying he's Muslim. Ergo more info needed for clarity - as in the entire clip. The very last thing we should do on the center-right is repeat the errors so often perpetuated by liberal blogs and the MSM.
FYI, I'm still bothered that we don't have a clip showing the context. As I said earlier in this post, without seeing the entire clip we don't know if he was in essence admitting to his Muslim faith or was referring people saying he's Muslim. Although, it's hard to think of a conversation that would call for him to refer to his Musim faith unless he was - you know - referring to his Muslim faith.

He was referring to people smearing him by saying he's a secret Muslim, so he was saying while McCain himself has not implied he's a Muslim...etc. It's out of context. Anyone who doubts the man's Christianity is a bigot and fear-monger. Give it a rest.

A Christian Matthew????
I am a Roman Catholic and have friends in all Christian denominations, Jeremiah Wright's Black Liberation Theology Church is fully outside of the mainstream of Christianity in America.
Just like Father Pfleger's St. Sabina...who has been rebuked by the Archbishop Cardinal George, with Vatican approval.
The broader issue is his denial of ever being a Muslim (7 to 11 yrs old), which we cannot place on him but he continues to deny it,(via the official website) even though Nicolas Kristof from the NY Times states that in his presence he chanted the, " Adhan, "with a first-class [Arabic] accent."
"The opening lines of the Adhan (Azaan) is the Shahada:
"Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that Muhammad is his prophet...."
"According to Islamic scholars, reciting the Shahada, the Muslim declaration of faith, makes one a Muslim. This simple yet profound statement expresses a Muslim's complete acceptance of, and total commitment to, the message of Islam. Obama chanted it with pride and finesse."

Mathew, did you not read the entire post? It seems you jumped a bit quick, and wrongly.
Did you somehow myopically focus on missing this part?
After all, without seeing the entire clip we don't know if he was in essence admitting to his Muslim faith or was referring people saying he's Muslim. Ergo more info needed for clarity - as in the entire clip. The very last thing we should do on the center-right is repeat the errors so often perpetuated by liberal blogs and the MSM.And by the way, criticizing Obama and questioning his character and judgment based upon his associations and judgments has absolutely nothing to do with being a bigot and a fear-mongerer. If you are willing to blindly accept Obama at his word when his deeds suggest the real Obama is something other than he portrays himself - in policies and agenda - that's your business. As for the rest of us, we're a little more interested in attempting to match stated policy and agenda with proven policy and agenda - at least as best we can.
And by the way, if you honestly believe that Black liberation theology is "Christian," then you either know very little about Christianity or absolutely nothing about BLT. One has to do with the teachings of Jesus Christ, the other on the Africentric theology of James Cone - it's basically Marxism emblazoned with a cross and a pulpit, pretending to use the Bible for its authority.
It might be helpful if you do a little reading up on it in order that you may more fully understand the difference.

Give us a holler if you find something that puts it in context.

Great to see Obama finally admit this, even if he did so accidentally.
The voters drinking the Obama Kool-Aid by the gallons will simply dismiss this as a slip of the tongue gaffe that Stephanopoulos prompted him to
Of course the key word "my" in "my Muslim faith" tells all and the fact Obama did not catch himself tells more because why should the real Obama
subconsciously correct a truth.
"So what's the big deal" about his religious preference? None on it's face.
What everyone should be asking now:
How can we possibly know Obama's true agenda?
In what harm's way will this self-proclaimed national defense disarming, socio-marxist appeaser place our families?
