Topics: Political News and commentariesJust three years in the Senate and he already ranks near the top in campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, yet chooses to ignore his own party's role in the mortgage crisis - as he jets off to Beverly Hills for a fundraiser with Barbra Streisand, Leo DiCaprio, Jodi Foster, Steven Spielberg, et al.

In a related note, chutzpah must be a Democrat syndrome. Nancy Pelosi completely denies any responsibility for the financial crisis, according to her its the usual Dem scapegoat for their incompetence in power: She says it's all Bush's fault, supposedly with a straight face (while blinking to the tune of "Lyin' Eyes"). This, in spite of the fact that back in 2003, the Bush administration proposed more oversight for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac but it was stopped by the Democrats.
