CNN: Momentum for U.S. Offshore Drilling Helping Drive Down Oil Prices
Topics: OilFree Republic notes that apparently even CNN recognizes that just the threat of offshore drilling is having an effect on oil prices:
Buried in the middle of a long roundup article about the oil market on CNN's website is an acknowledgment that the campaign to open offshore U.S. waters to oil exploration is helping to drive down the cost of oil.Maybe, just maybe, even the left will wake up and only the MoveOn.org and Greenies will be the only ones that just don't get it.No mention is made that it was President Bush who got this started when he put pressure on Congress to follow his lead in lifting the ban on offshore drilling.
The money quote:
Analysts say support mounting for an end to some of the off-shore drilling bans has begun to weigh on oil prices."Psychologically, it's adding to the decline in prices, even though it won't have an impact on material supply in the next few years," said Neal Dingmann, senior energy analyst with Dahlman Rose & Co."Fundamentally, this wouldn't make a difference until the end of 2010 at the earliest - most of these fields don't even have rigs set up yet," he added.
Naaaaawwwww. That'd be giving too much credit to liberals - their emotion-driven brains just aren't capable of seeing through the fog of the ideology environmentalism and global warming.

Are you kidding?!?! If it's up to the "Greenies" the only way we could use the "resources" at ANWR is if we use the damn caribou to pull our out-of-fuel cars, trucks, and buses - like Santa's reindeer!
Now they are even trying to get the Navy to stop using "SONAR" because they claim it "stresses and disorients" marine mammals such as whales and porpoises! So, if it was up to their deranged minds all someone who wanted to nuke us had to do is come close to our shores in a submarine - preferably accompanied by a pod of Orcas or dolphins for better cover - and just launch a nuclear missile two miles from our shores!
And you thought they were nuts about the polar bears! LOL! Pathetic!

Alaska Sues U.S. Over 'Threatened' Polar Bear Status
Tuesday, August 05, 2008
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The state of Alaska sued Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne on Monday, seeking to reverse his decision to list polar bears as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act.
Gov. Sarah Palin and other state officials fear a listing will cripple offshore oil and gas development in the Chukchi and Beaufort seas in Alaska's northern waters, which provide prime habitat for the only polar bears under U.S. jurisdiction.
"We believe that the Service's decision to list the polar bear was not based on the best scientific and commercial data available," Palin said in announcing the lawsuit.
With Aloha,
