This skit reads like a Straw Dog tactic.
When lawyers are faced with a serious disadvantage in litigation, they often resort to the fabrication of an imaginary demon (straw dog) in order to build a sound defense against it. The straw dog may provide no relevance to the case at hand; however, it acts as a distraction/enticement to the adjudication procedure. Its greatest effect is to focus the attention of the adjudicators on the skill with which the lawyers dispensed with the straw dog.

Clearly, Barry Obama is reaching into his bag of tricks that he learned from Harvard Law School.
Barry Obama has serious disadvantages when it comes to patriotism and courage of convictions. He knows it!
