Say What? Dems Now Claim Credit For Successful Surge In Iraq? Ahhh, The Liberal Mindset
Topics: Political News and commentariesIn an incredibly ballsy contortion and distortion of the facts, Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D-PA), who recently gained media attention for his videotaped admission that, due to "temptation to want to win back the Congress," Democrats "stretched the facts" regarding their ability to actually end the war in Iraq, now claims that by opposing the surge via the strongest verbal and legislative means they possibly could, Democrats "forced the President" into adopting the strategy in Iraq that has, to date, provided the most success since the overwhelmingly successful initial major combat operations: Democrat Congressman: "We've taken public positions which...forced the president...into the surge...which is working"
Here's the video: Rep. Kanjorski caught in yet another lie.
Have these people no shame? Of course not. For the Dems, truth is relative, there are no absolutes.
Borrowing from Daniel's May 16, 2007 piece at Evolutionary Mind, for some of us, the need to experience absolute truth is ingrained in our being. It feels as if we cannot live without it. For others, like many Democrats, all of the far left, and to be fair and balanced some Republicans as well (RINOs), it seems less important. They actually believe that their "thoughts" (often as not what they "want" to think) about reality are true. However, contrary to what they think or want to think, there is indeed an absolute truth - it lies in the direct observation of reality. If before their narrow liberal progressive little minds started analyzing, deconstructing and conceptualizing their experience and/or what was before them - they had just stopped thinking about it and simply observed it - they would find pure, unadulterated reality right at their fingertips. This is where Rep. Paul Kanjorski and his fellow Democrats get lost - they can't see the forest before their very eyes.
In a (sort of) related video, here's an explanation of the liberal mindset by Evan Sayet, who gives an excellent - must watch - dissertation on the liberal mindset - where it comes from, and it's dangers. It starts slow and it's rather lengthy, but you'll be hooked if you take the time to watch the first five minutes (HT - Double Tap).
