Memo To Obama: Stay The Hell Out Of My Personal Life (Updated)

MJ at In The Pines calls this pretty scary, after all, B. Hussein Obama is implying that the government should have control over what people eat, and suggests that it should be at the bidding of foreign nations. I, on the other hand, call this down right terrifying - it's Marxism clear and simple. Obama's true, dark, deep seeded, beliefs are coming to the surface, and more so every day.

As James Robbins suggests at the Corner, just who in the hell (my expression, not Robbins) is this guy B. Hussein Obama to tell us that we need the OK of the international community to drive our gas guzzlers, eat to our hearts' content and keep our homes at a comfortable temperature? Besides, since when do other countries have a say in what Americans do and don't do?

Energy independence should be the first priority of the next administration, not asking the international community to set limits on American living standards.

If I want to drive my SUV 24/7 at 70 mph and crank my home AC down to 68 - that's my business as long as I can afford to pay for the gas and the electric bill. It's no business of Obama's and certainly not that of the international community. The government and the international community have no business whatsoever setting limits on my living standards. This isn't Russia, this is the United States of America - we are a free democracy, not a Marxist state as Obama and the Democratic Party would have us become.
