Is Obama 'Buying' Superdelegate Support With His 'Goldmine'
Topics: Political News and commentariesAs Ed Lasky notes, Clinton may be rising in the polls, racking up primary victories and, judging by the polls, would be a stronger challenger than Obama against John McCain. Nevertheless, Senator Obama is still gaining support among superdelegates, who likely will ultimately choose the nominee.
While this has been explained as a desire among superdelegates to end the divisive process and prevent discord among the party's loyal African-American delegates, another overlooked factor is playing a role. You guessed it already; apparently, he's essentially "buying" the support, which says much about the Democratic Party and their "not-so-super" superdelegates. Hillary does the same thing but she has less money. Apparently, Obama gets more help from George Soros' cash .
There really isn't much mystery going on as to which way the superdelegates will go. Just follow the money that's already changed hands and that's still flowing.
So when you see the next superdelegate on television give his reason from supporting Obama, you can bet the farm that his decision has been influenced more by cash than principle. Since Obama has more cash than Hillary and also has Soros cash working for him in the background, look for Hillary to loose the battle for superdelegates unless she somehow makes much better than expected gains in votes from real voters in the primaries.
