When Will The Media Question DNC's False Statistics In Anti-McCain Ad
Topics: Political News and commentaries"Nguirado" at Politics and Culture says he knew something was fishy about the DNC's anti-McCain ad, and after checking Newsbusters - it turns out he was right. After looking at the ad myself, I felt that the stats almost jump out at you as bogus, they just don't jive with what America has experienced over the Bush years - in spite of having the economy recoup from 9-11, the WOT, Iraq, etc.
As Newsbusters reminds us, they've been warning readers for months of the likelihood that media will adopt the 1992 Clinton playbook of regularly depicting the economy as being far worse than it really is. And, that's exactly what they're doing:
On Sunday, the Democratic National Committee released a new television advertisement attacking GOP presidential candidate John McCain with economic statistics that don't measure up to even the slightest scrutiny.
Readers should check out Newsbusters "busting" of the DNC's lying ad - here ... As it turns out, after checking the assumptions and source data at the DNC website for the DNC's ad, the assertions in the ad are down right laughable - were they not so boldly dishonest.
