Pelosi Makes 'Fake-Religious Ass' Out Of Herself

Topics: Political News and commentaries

I'm no Biblical scholar, and neither is my dog. But both of us could recognize that Nancy Pelosi and her staffers pulled this one out of their collective asses:

In her April 22 Earth Day news release, Pelosi said, "The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, 'To minister to the needs of God's creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.' On this Earth Day, and every day, let us pledge to our children, and our children's children, that they will have clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and the opportunity to experience the wonders of nature."
As it turns out, Biblical scholars agree that she's "full of it" (okay, so those aren't exactly the words they use).

As Michael van der Galien (hat tip for the "fake-religious ass" description I used in the title) writes: "Note to Nancy Pelosi; if you're going to quote the Bible, be sure that what you're saying is an actual quote. Don't let staffers make 'quotes' up, pick up a copy of the Bible, start reading it, and if you feel inspired by a particular passage, use it."

As it turns out, Pelosi has an obvious affection for this "faux-quote." According to Cybercast News Service, Pelosi has used it repeatedly before.

She's been reading from the liberal progressive's secular bible - the one steeped in Marxism.
