Obama All Wrong On Iran's 'Unsettling al Qaeda Connections'

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Despite Obama's claims to the contrary, and those of the "increasingly unhinged (and visibly angry)" retired Air Force Gen. Merrill McPeak, Iran - a Shi'ite country has, yes, worked with al Qaeda - a Sunni network.

In fact, Iran works to destabilize Iraq and defeat the U.S in Iraq by working with:

"Everybody... it works with the government, with the opponents of the government, with the opponents of the government's opponents, with al Qaida, with the enemies of al Qaida, with the militias, with the enemies of the militias... Iran spreads its investments everywhere... with the Shi'ites, the Sunnis, and the Kurds."

Much more ...

Once again, Obama, and the people he has chosen to be his advisors, are wrong on military affairs. In the case of General McPeak, while he has made some common sense statements about Iraq, let's remember that he's a retired Air Force general turned Democrat, who among other things thinks it's George W. Bush's fault that Iran doesn't like us. McPeak conveniently ignores facts like:
Iran's Islamist regime (started with the help of Jimmy Carter) held American Embassy personnel hostage for 444 days. He also seems to have forgotten that Iran, along with Syria is one of the main backers of Hezbollah, the group responsible for killing over 240 marines in Lebanon, as they slept in their barracks.
And then, of course, there's that not-so-little matter of Iran being committed to the destruction of Israel and the conversion of the entire world into an Islamic caliphate ruled by Islamic law.

What we have in the Obama-McPeak connection is a case of a well-spoken, naive, Marxist who has had 20 years of indoctrination from a whacked-out, anti-American, Black nationalist pastor, getting advise from an otherwise respectable and accomplished retired general that has imbibed on way too much leftist Kool-Aid.
