Muslim Author Baptized By Pope Says His Life Is In Danger
Topics: Understanding IslamMagdi Allam, the Muslim author and critic of Islamic fundamentalism who renounced his Muslim faith and was baptized Catholic by Pope Benedict is saying that Islam is "physiologically violent" and that his life is now in great danger because of his conversion.
And he expected otherwise?
While Alam's conversion to Catholicism has received all the attention, it was Alam's warning of the pitfalls of multiculturalism that I find far more important. However, that's not quite as sensational as a Muslim (who in fact was more a secularist and a Muslim in name only) being baptized by the Pope and that's the story the media chose to sensationalize. Of course, no one ever accused the media of having a real penchant for substance.
