Hookers More Trustworthy Than New York Times
Topics: Follies of the Mainstream MediaWho can be trusted more to keep national secrets a secret - a hooker or the New York Times? Think - this isn't a trick question !
Consider this:
Pretty amazing that an allegedly 20 year-old call girl, among others, would service the State's Attorney General and ultimately Governor and we wouldn't hear about it for years. But we can't keep secret prisons or certain interrogation techniques out of the New York Times. Maybe we should sign some of these girls up for DHS, or the CIA?More ...
I'd like to add an additional point - leaks and the NYT's publishing of them have consistantly jeopardized our sources and methods of gathering intelligence and even the conduct of military operations - for years (see related story below).
Related story: National Secrets, Too Frequently Told - The romantic notion that most leakers are earnest civil servants driven by conscience is touchingly naïve. Most, in fact, are midlevel career or political appointees seeking bureaucratic advantage in the daily battles over making and implementing government decisions. Most other leaks come from a small number of career staff people seeking to undermine the policies of their political superiors, who have been duly elected or appointed but whom the leakers view as temporary interlopers in government. So much for leakers upholding the temple of democracy.

I would not be at all surprised if some of these women (and men and "other") WEREN'T on the CIA or FBI payroll. How better to get dirt on foreign diplomats and politicians who might try to interfere with intelligence operations. J. Edgar Hoover might have been a bit of a nutball, but he wasn't stupid. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he compiled dossiers on everybody who was ANYBODY in DC. The hookers get immunity from prosecution in exchange for keeping the feds informed of who likes boys and who likes to "dress up" etc. and that sort of thing.

It's my understanding that she has, in fact, been given some sort of a deal for testifying ...
