Grievance-mongering Minorities In Congress Lambast DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff For Not Hiring More Women And People Of Color.Topics: Political News and commentaries
There's incredible racism going on at Congress. As Michelle Malkin describes it, the very same liberals who scream when law enforcement wants to profile people to protect national security are leaning on Chertoff to engage in racial and gender profiling so Chertoff can surround himself with a rainbow of sycophants.
Via the Washington Times:
Two congressmen today said the Department of Homeland Security needs more diversity to be effective, and scolded Secretary Michael Chertoff for not bringing any black or female staffers to his appearance before the House Judiciary Committee. It appears to me that the only real racism going on these days is coming out of the mouths of liberal Black politicians. As Ross Kaminsky wrote at RCC back in December 06, "They care only about their own power and being able to say that they are keeping blacks in positions of influence." Racist politicians like those calling Mr. Chertoff out on their racist carpet would do well to read Walter Williams' "Black Progress" Through Politics?, in which he astutely challenges the ridiculous approach of politicians that practice the often preached belief (and far too often taken as gospel) that the only way black people can progress is through racial politics and government programs. First of all, they are the real racists, and what they believe and practice is absolutely 100% incorrect. Readers will find more on racial hoaxes crammed down our throats by politicians - here.)
In what appeared to be a sort of diversity sting operation, Rep. Robert C. Scott lead off his questions to Mr. Chertoff by demanding the secretary's staff stand up to be scrutinized. Minutes later, during his own questions, Rep. Melvin Watt said the point was to prove that none of the 10 staffers who stood met his definition of diverse.
"You brought 10 staff people with you, all white males. I know this hearing is not about diversity of the staff, but I hope you've got more diversity in your staff than you've reflected here in the people you've brought with you," Mr. Watt, North Carolina Democrat, told the secretary.
The hearing was called to examine the administration's record on border security and immigration, but Mr. Watt said diversity mattered for law enforcement. Both Mr. Watt and Mr. Scott are black.
Mr. Chertoff responded that Mr. Watt shouldn't judge his staff based purely on appearance.
Readers will also do well to check out Jules Crittenden's Racist Joke, who writes:
...This is serious business. If they actually said these things, then Messrs. Scott and Watt are bigots, bent on humiliating federal employees based on race and gender, who should be hounded out of Congress like Imus out of CBS.He's right, of course. And this is indeed - damned serious business, and people need to do so serious thinking about the effect of an Obama or Clinton presidency.
... These people actually have a say in our national security, and have been doing everything they can to undermine it. If Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton is elected, they get their chance.
