GOP senators to introduce toughest-yet immigration package
Topics: Immigration and Border IssuesI'm 'lovin' it - The bills would mandate prison time for illegal border crossings and compel English in dealing with federal agencies:
... Senate Republicans are set to announce today the hardest-hitting package of immigration enforcement measures seen yet -- one that would require jail time for illegal immigrants caught crossing the border, make it harder for them to open bank accounts and compel them to communicate in English when dealing with federal agencies.Good start, anyway. However, not sure what difference the bills would make - even if they got through the Democratic illegal alien appeasers (and their RINO buddies). After all, we don't even enforce the laws we already have on the books.... little chance of being debated in the Democratic-controlled Congress. But the move by some of the Senate's leading Republicans underscores how potent the immigration issue remains, particularly in a presidential election year.
Besides, even if McCain wins, the open border is likely to become a freeway - with free transportation provided - and there'll be amnesty for all his illegal "amigos."
