Just In Time For Christmas - 'Mohammed the Bear' (Updated)
Topics: Understanding IslamThere they go again. Like the avengers who vowed death to novelist Salman Rushdie for his affront to Islam, like those who slew Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh for his, like the mobs who ran mindless riot across Europe in protest of cartoons they deemed offensive to their prophet, now tens of thousands of Sudanese Muslims are demanding the execution by firing squad of British schoolteacher Gillian Gibbons, who made the mistake of letting her 7-year-old charges name a teddy bear Muhammed. Here is evidence afresh that at the heart of radical Islam there is tinder - so easily ignited... - NY Daily News | December 01 2007Yes, indeed. Here "they" go again, this time over a damned stuffed animal.
And in recognition of this latest jihad, only the latest of a long stream by the Islamo-nutcases, albeit I have no financial interest in this bear - I'm damned happy to give it as much attention as possible :

"Hello! My name's Mohammed. I'm so pleased to meet you. I'm looking for a good home for Christmas. Please buy me. I'm soft and cuddly and ever so loving." (HT - Mark Alexander)"... and ever so loving."
A "loving" Mohammed? Oh hell, it's just a stuffed animal - except of course to the fanatical Mohammedans.
Thankfully, not all of Mohammed's followers are nutjobs. Some, like the American Islamic Conference, always speak out against such nonsense as the teddy bear jihad. (Notice that with the radical Islamist group CAIR - the opposite is true)
BTW - Sudan Tribune reports:
... The parents, the majority of whom are Muslims, appear to be more rational than most other people involved and have gone on record to say they "never had any objection to the name of the teddy bear".... many in Sudan think that poor Ms Gibson has been used in a blackmailing strategy by the Sudanese authorities who in reality are not concerned about Prophet Mohammed or anything else except sustaining their power in Sudan and consolidating their earthly gains. Many think this whole affair is a ploy to arouse ordinary Muslim sentiment in Sudan and around the world so that the regime can find a breathing space from its domestic problems, specially the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
HT - Hard To Swallow, who has some accompanying poetry.
