I Never Knew There Were Such A Thing As "I'll vote Dem over Huck" Conservatives" - But Count Me In! (Updated)

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Until now, that is (via Redstate):

if Huckabee gets the nomination, I'm voting Democratic. It's not just an idle threat; I just won't vote for him and in fact won't even vote third party or stay home. I'll vote for the Democratic candidate, even Hillary. I won't be a party to selling out everything the party is supposed to stand for to a liberal ideology. If we're going to have eight years of liberal rule, I'd rather the Democratic Party be governing, so at least they can take the blame.

And, quite frankly, Hillary is to the right of Huckabee on most issues, if only because she's politically afraid to do the kind of crap Huckabee does and dream of doing at night. She couldn't afford to be as soft as Iran as Huckabee would.

And I don't think I'm alone on this.

Which is why I was as surprised as Dan Riehl was about learning how Ace felt about Huckabee:
I'm surprised to see Ace say he'd vote for Hillary before Huckabee. The fact is, I have been thinking about this for days and reached the very same conclusion last night. And, yes, I mean it, too. In fact, if, given his record and how he is now obviously pandering to evangelicals and who knows what he promised Gilchrist to get his endorsement, if he buys the Republican nod with a smile, a prayer and empty promises, I'm done.
And the reason I was surprised to learn that both ACE and Dan Reihl felt so strong about being committed to not voting for the "slick made-for-TV evangelism" Huckabee and actually being willing to vote for Hillary instead - sending our national sovereignty and culture further down the tube and toward shari than it is now, is because this is exactly what I've been thinking this past week and was discussing with a friend last night.

So count me in what can now be described as a "growing number" (count 3 that I know about) of conservatives that would rather vote Dem than Huckabee. As Ace suggests, "If we're going to have eight years of liberal rule, I'd rather the Democratic Party be governing, so at least they can take the blame."

I see Huckabee as more liberal than Hillary, not as smart as Hillary, more incompetent than Hillary, more liberal than Hillary except on abortion , and ten times more naive than Hillary. And indeed, on foreign policy, and especially on Iran, Huckabee sounds more like DailyKos bloggers (and George Soros and MoveOn.org) than a Republican presidential candidate (HT - Ace).

Yes, let the damned Dems have it in 08 and let them take the blame for destroying our sovereignty further and loosing the war against Islamofascism. I'm sure that we can count on much much more to come on a "Vote Dem Rather Then Huckabee" movement!
