Evangelist Launches Childish Proselytizing Swine Attack On Muslims
Topics: Understanding IslamBill Keller, host of LivePrayer, has posted a video on YouTube featuring a pink, toy pig named Muhammad after the Muslim prophet, who "delivers" a proselytizing message.
As anyone who is a frequent reader at Hyscience knows, I am always quick to condemn Islamists for their intolerance, censorship, hate, and persecution, murder, and violence on non-Muslims and secular Muslims. And in the case of the now-resolved teddy-bear jihad crisis, I've been on the story like a dog on a bone, condemning and criticizing Islamists for their actions, and Muslims for not speaking out louder and more forcefully. I've even gone so far as to taunt them with other images in an effort to let them know that we will not be intimidated and that their intolerance will only result in our being more outspoken about their Middle Age ideology and behavior. However, always willing to call a spade a spade, I believe that what this American evangelist is doing is less than helpful.

As much as we can disagree with Muslims about the tenets of Islam and its beliefs and practices, nonetheless there are those that believe in it as a peaceful, tolerant faith and use it as a spiritual guide in their life, and practice it as so. For these Muslims, whatever their number may be and regardless of how difficult it may be to adequately distinguish them from the Islamists, what the evangelist is doing is out of spite and a personal agenda of his own, not simply condemnation. He's doing it to proselytize rather than to condemn Islamists behavior or the Islamist agenda of global domination by whatever means necessary including terrorism.
Being purposefully hurtful and acting to mock the beliefs of another's faith and naming a toy pig after the Muslim's prophet, as this evangelist is doing, regardless of what non-Muslims may think of him, is much different than attacking bad behavior and the propagation of hate, intolerance, and the Islamists agenda of world domination.
Besides, Kellers video is nothing less than stupid, childish, and low rent. His proselytizing fools no one, and only serves to belittle Christianity while infuriating Islamists and hurting the feelings of the moderate and secular Muslims that actually exist and that aren't just figments of our hopes. He goes beyond taunting Islamists with an image in an effort to let them know that we will not be intimidated and that their intolerance will only result in our being more outspoken about their Middle Age ideology and behavior, he acts self-servingly, and his hidden agenda is obvious. While on his site you'll have no trouble locating his "Live Prayer Miracle Center" where the gullible can quickly click for miracles in healing, relationships, finances, or salvation. Whatever you desire, Keller will "pray" for it, or at the very least - any donations that you might send his way. You can even buy a "Live Prayer" DVD - it too is only a click away.
I don't hesitate the slightest in saying that Keller is an embarrassment for Christians, and I hope what I've said genuinely pisses him off!
