Teacher Now Charged In 'Teddy Bear' Case And By The Way - Meet My Teddy Bear Named Mohammed (Updated)

Freaking unbelievable! That British teacher arrested in Sudan after allowing her class to name a teddy bear "Mohammed" (after a class vote to do so) has now been charged by authorities with "offending religion."

How, pray tell, is it possible for anyone to offend the religion of Islam more so than the adherents themselves offend the very word - religion? These people are nuts.

As a commenter noted at Free Republic, "if you have a teddy bear named Muhammad you are insulting islam.... but if you are a guy whose actual name is Muhammad, and you strap on a suicide vest and commit mass murder, then you are glorifying islam."

So to all who give a crap, I have personally named the Teddy Bear in this post - MOHAMMED. Cute little fellow, isn't he? Again, just in case you missed it - his name is Mohammed!!!

By the way. Despite the false claims of Islamists and the media that it has always been forbidden for Muslims to draw Mohammed, the truth is that until comparatively recently in Islamic history, it was perfectly common to show Mohammed, either in full or with his face hidden. Even after the 17th century, up to modern times, Islamic depictions of Mohammed (especially in Shi'ite areas) continued to be produced.

And there have, in fact, been depictions of Mohammed in every era throughout history. From Ottoman religious icons to market stalls in Iran, from the US Supreme Court building to the South Park cartoon, Muhammad has been frequently portrayed in flattering and unflattering lights:

... Even in the holiest Muslim city of Mecca, Muhammad has been depicted. Edinburgh University has a 14th-century miniature of him rededicating the black stone at Kaaba holy place in Mecca to illustrate a History of the World by Rashid al-Din.

By the way, here's a test question: How many lashes did American photographer Andres Serrano receive for his "art" depicting Christ in Urine, and how many Christians rioted?

We all know the answer, don't we! Gee, there must be a message here, somewhere.

You can see the scene of the "crime" at Islamic fanatics demand "She must die."

BTW, as we find ourselves in the middle of yet another jihad, this time a ridiculous "Teddy Bear Jihad," lets not forget that there are moderate Muslims and Muslim groups still in the world today that don't share the views of radical Muslims like we're hearing from in Sudan and radical Muslim groups like CAIR, MPAC, and The Muslim Brotherhood. Take for example, the American Islamic Congress that is now slamming the Sudanese Government Over Teddy Bear Case, Demands British Teacher Be Freed Immediately:

"We denounce this fabricated outrage," stated Nasser Weddady, the organization's Civil Rights Outreach Director. "The Sudanese government's ridiculous case trivializes the feelings of Muslims around the world."

"The sad legacy of the Danish cartoon riots is that we have to speak out immediately when extremists try to provoke clashes over trivial matters," Weddady explained. "This is not about cultural sensitivities. There is no excuse for someone to be sent to jail and whipped over a teddy
bear's name. Ms. Gibbons needs to be freed at once."

"The Muslim world has much more pressing and urgent problems to deal with than a random teddy bear," Weddady observed. "This ridiculous case has the potential to further tarnish popular perceptions of Muslims. What's truly offensive here is the action of the Sudanese regime, which only entrenches the perception of Muslims as hyper-sensitive."
