China Finally Says U.S. Ship Can Dock In Hong Kong - U.S Ship Says Stuff It
Topics: International NewsWell, that's essentially what happened!
China initially refused permission for the USS Kitty Hawk and its accompanying vessels to visit Hong Kong for their long-planned Thanksgiving holiday visit -- and then changed its mind.
Meanwhile, the USS Kitty Hawk says thank you very much but no thank you, we'll take our Yankee dollars to Japan.
Despite China's change of mind, the U.S. Navy said the flotilla was continuing to steam for Yokosuka in Japan, the Times said, and had no plans to turn around. In other words, "You can stuff your port where the sun don't shine, we're going to go where we're our 8,000 crew members' money is much appreciated"

Comments
Problem is that more than a few of the crew will have relatives or spouses in Hong Kong waiting for them.

That is, of course, the down side. Hopefully, the relatives and spouses will hop over to Japan. I hate to see our men and women disappointed.
