As Usual, CAIR 'Offended' Over Reality (So Why CARE?)
Topics: Understanding IslamApparently, Donald Rumsfeld, retired for almost a year, has inadvertently touched off one last firestorm this week with the release in the Washington Post of some staff memos he wrote while in office.
Robert Spencer writes that in one of the memos, Rumsfeld observed that oil billions have shielded Muslims "from the reality of the work, effort and investment that leads to wealth for the rest of the world, saying that too often Muslims are against physical labor, so they bring in Koreans and Pakistanis while their young people remain unemployed. An unemployed population is easy to recruit to radicalism."
This makes a lot of sense to me, and I've got more than a few Muslim friends who have essentially said the same thing in that they believe the answer to radicalism and the radical imams that teach it is jobs and education. However, the Council on American Islamic Relations was predictably offended. CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper huffed that Rumsfeld's remarks indicated a "stereotypical attitude" that had led to the American invasion of Iraq.
"Our policy was never based on reality," opined Hooper. "It was based on the wild ideas of those who wanted to invade the region....It shows you what kind of wrong-headed policymakers we had at the time."So, the WH can "understand why they would be offended by those comments"??? WHY!!!With a firestorm brewing, the White House quickly disavowed Rumsfeld's statement: "It's not in line with the president's views," explained spokeswoman Dana Perino. "We are aware that we have a lot of work to do in order to win hearts and minds across the Arab world and the Muslim world. And I can understand why they would be offended by those comments."
White House spokeswoman Dana Perino and her boss are nuts for their "sensitivity." If CAIR and the Muslims that toe the CAIR line are offended over reality, I say tough S**t. Bowing to CAIR's constant whinnings over "Muslim sensitivities" is taking America downhill to sharia step by unnecessary step. And besides, if Muslims don't like America and free speech, and the Judeo-Christian work ethic that made it great, they can all go the hell back to wherever they came from, and stay there. And if they were born here, let them join in being Americans first and Muslims a distant second, or they should move to some backward Islamic country where they can relish in their Muslimhood all they want. Enough already of all this ummah-first crap!
The time is long overdue to tell CAIR that we don't CARE about what CAIR cares about, and its time for CAIR to CARE more about Muslims being Americans and less about Muslims being Muslims!
I hope CAIR finds this post very insensitive to Muslims, and frankly, I could CARE less what CAIR has to say about it!
