Haditha: A Story Of The Media - Our Enemy Within
Topics: IraqIn his piece, "Al Qaeda in Haditha: The battle the media ignored," Nat Helms writes of an obscure Marine Corps intelligence summary that says the deadly encounter was an intentional propaganda ploy planned and paid for by Al Qaeda foreign fighters.
After reading his piece one can't help but agree with veteran military defense attorney Gary Meyers, who said he never understood why the Naval Criminal Investigative Service special agents leading the Haditha criminal investigation didn't "examine the linkage" between Al Qaeda, the local insurgency and the events at Haditha.
It seems that not a day goes by that we don't find yet another example of our media's role in contributing to the spread of our enemy's propaganda and the death and condemnation of our brave men and women fighting to defend our nation against the terrorism of Islamic extremism.
