Media Goes Dhimmi Over 'Toon"

Topics: Dhimmitude

Dan Riehl had this up yesterday and I missed it. As Dan notes in his post, sad doesn't come close to being the appropriate word to characterize the behavior of our self-described freedom loving media in their self-censorship of this comic by Berke Breathed. It's not all that funny, but that's not the point. As Billy Hollis offers at the Q and O Blog, "If ironic humor that mild is no longer to be considered by the Post to be appropriate for publication, then I never want to hear a Post reporter or columnist use the phrase "speak truth to power" again."

They have exposed themselves as complete and utter cowards. They have voluntarily handed over their own freedom to publish to the over-reactive sensitivities of medieval fanatics.
And as Dan says, "It seems it (the WaPo) doesn't need a Muslim government, or sharia law to cause it to cower in the face of any potential threat from radical Islamists."

Frankly, our media are doing all the cowering all by themselves, and are apparently more than willing to help usher in Islamic law without radical Islamists even requesting the media's help.
