actually riehl gets it WRONG:
he writes:

WRONGF.
The RIGHTS enunciated are endowed by the Creator, and not WON by declaring or fighting a war.
Wars are waged to throw off the shackles which deniy our innate Rights.
What was proclaimed on 7/4 was INDEPENDENCE, not freedom; hence the document is called the Dec of Ind and not the Dec of freedom.
We had to fight a war to maintain the independence we declared - as it was our innate Right to declare it.

Very good point, indeed. And by the way, although there are those that fail to see it - we are still fighting the same battle to maintain our independence declared - independence from radical Islam and its declared objective of destroying the civilized world.
