New Intel: Al Qaeda Cell In U.S. Or On Its Way
Topics: TerrorismABC News reports that new intelligence suggests a small al Qaeda cell is on its way to the United States, or may already be here, and that the White House has convened an urgent multi-agency meeting for Thursday afternoon to deal with the new threat.
Apparently, the report is being taken very seriously, and is based on increased chatter, e-mail traffic back and forth, the attacks in London, and a general concern that summer seems to be a time that al Qaeda likes to attack.
This report follows Bryan Ross' July 1 report that a secret U.S. law enforcement document, prepared for the Department of Homeland Security, warns that al Qaeda is planning a terror "spectacular" this summer.
