The amnesty plan for illegal aliens is deader than a doornail and the conservative base is madder than a wet hen at the politicians behind it. So, where does this leave Senator John McCain's hopes for the GOP presidential run? Let's see here ....
McCain's low on cash, has a bleeding staff, and there's swirling rumors of an imminent end. Was shamnesty the final nail in the coffin for this RINO?.
AS Michelle suggests, the only question remaining is the exact expiration date of the McCain '08 campaign. Unquestionably, McCain lost all chance of ever winning the election on the issue of amnesty for illegal aliens, albeit I believe that the base didn't trust him all that much in the first place. Both he and his buddies Lindsey Graham and Sam Brownback came out looking like fools for having severely misjudged the public reaction to illegal immigration.
