America's First Muslim Congressman Compares Bush To Hitler And Blames 9/11 On Bush

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Keith Ellison, a convert to Islam who was previously linked to the extremist Nation of Islam, has attempted to cultivate a moderate image since being elected last November even though there's apparently much that he hasn't told us about that would indicate otherwise.

But now, as Bluto puts it, Keith Ellison has wedged his foot firmly in his mouth, and started to chew:

Addressing a gathering of atheists in his home state of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, a Democrat, compared the 9/11 atrocities to the destruction of the Reichstag, the German parliament, in 1933. This was probably burned down by the Nazis in order to justify Hitler's later seizure of emergency powers.

"It's almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that," Mr Ellison said. "After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it, and it put the leader [Hitler] of that country in a position where he could basically have authority to do whatever he wanted."

To applause from his audience of 300 members of Atheists for Human Rights, Mr Ellison said he would not accuse the Bush administration of planning 9/11 because "you know, that's how they put you in the nut-ball box - dismiss you".

However, this isn't the first time Ellison has exposed his true political nature as something other than a moderate Muslim.

Here's Keith Ellison speaking in Dearborn, Mich. on December 25, 2006, at the annual convention of two Muslim groups, the Muslim American Society and the Islamic Circle of North America:

... You can't back down, you can't chicken out, you can't be afraid, you got to have faith in Allah, and you got to stand up and be a real Muslim, ...

... "Allahu akbar" -- God is great -- was the reply of many in the crowd.

... How do you know that Allah, sallalahu aleyhi wasallam," (meaning peace be upon him) "did not bring you here so that you could understand how to teach people what tolerance was, what justice was? ... How do you know that you're not here to teach this country?"

Ellison went on to tell them that Muslims can help teach America about justice and equal protection, suggesting that Muslim activists may be part of God's plan.

Robert Spencer writes of Keith Ellison's relationship with CAIR:

... as someone who has sworn to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic," Ellison has more to answer for than just hysterical anti-Bush rhetoric. Ellison has taken money from the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group that has been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in a case involving funding of the terrorist group Hamas. The mainstream media has been silent on this; would treat the specter of a congressman taking money from the Ku Klux Klan with similar indifference? CAIR co-founder Nihad Awad has declared his support for Hamas in the past, although he now disavows the group. And as for the Constitution, CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper has said: "I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future." And Omar Ahmad, co-founder of CAIR with Awad, has declared that "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant," with the Qur'an "the highest authority in America."
Keith Ellison, a "moderate" Muslim? No way! His troubling relationship with Nihad Awad, executive director of CAIR, CAIR itself, and Hamas - is alarming enough, but of course there's more such history to call his moderation into question.

Compare Ellison to the likes of M. Zuhdi Jasser and you'll quickly realize the difference between an Islamist pretending to be a moderate Muslim, and someone who is in fact - a moderate Muslim.

I said it when he was first put into office, Just give him time and he will hang himself. We talked to congressman Goode a few times about this situation. We have done tons of investigating on Ellison, Muslims of America, and CAIR. I seriously dont think America will put up with any extremist views from a congressman. This is just the beginning, The more he expresses his views the more America will want to make him not only the first muslim ellected into congress, But also the first Muslim ejected from congress.
He has been fairly silent until now. Lets see what happens next.
