Walid Phares: 'Lessons from the JFK Plot'
Topics: TerrorismWalid Phares had a piece yesterday in The New Media Journal titled "Quick Lessons From The JFK Plot" that originally ran on June 4th, 2007 in the Washington Times. In his highly informative analysis of the arrest of three men and the search for another man, all of whom were implicated (allegedly by legal perspective) in a plot to kill thousands of people in and around the JFK International Airport, he offers that the root causes of potential terror acts in New York or Toronto in this decade have been triggered by a war of ideological indoctrination waged decades ago through this hemisphere, and that there is a link for all these activities from Guyana to the islands, all the way to America.
According to Phares, that single ideology - Jihadism, has regimes, organizations and individuals distributed in multiple countries that are targeting many other countries, and has motivations against the United States and other countries that are, in spite of the elite's debate to the contrary, older and deeper than all the arguments gathered against the principle of a world mobilization against terrorism. And the very first lesson to draw is that indeed the war with jihadism is a global war on terror, regardless of what the elite's believe and want us to believe.
Phares' analysis should be read and taken to heart by the U.S. (Democrat-controlled and initiated) congressional panel and the European Commission, which asked to drop the concept of "global war" with terrorism, who should review their statement on the matter - and change it:
