The path to Chávez's eternal dictatorship
Topics:The draft of the new Venezuelan constitution has been released. Among other things, it legitimises the State's right to expropriate or confiscate at will if it thinks it is necessary to its interests -you have to give everything except your "personal belongings"- and it suspends the Universities' autonomy. Power is centrallised, granting the National Assembly the possibility to remove Majors if they do not agree with their views.
Precisely, expropiations and confiscations have already being done by Chávez supporters mainly against the Europeans who have little lands in Venezuela. Spanish, Portuguese and Italians have been the most harmed by a "movement" supported by some pro-Chavist politicians, about which Spanish newspapers La Vanguardia y El Mundo are releasing reports today in Spain.
Anyway, the student's protests continue. And not only inside Venezuela.
