Middle East 'May See Full-Scale War'

For the last year there's been a steadily increasing buildup of war drums throughout the Middle East, centered around issues in Iraq, Iran, Syria and Lebanon. Then, of course, there's the never-ending plethora of issues revolving around the inability of the Palestinians to get along with anyone, including themselves. No one who has been following the Middle East could possibly be surprised to see full-scale war breakout. Now, even the UN seems to be aware of the problem, with UN envoy Terje Roed-Larsen saying the picture which emerges is very dark, and apparently getting darker. And he also says there are reasons for real concerns in the international community and he warns that the Middle East could see full-scale war:

"Now, there seems to be four epicentres of conflict in the region with their own dynamics, the Iraqi issues, the Iranian issues, the Syrian-Lebanese issues, and of course the heart of hearts, the traditional conflict, the Palestinian-Israeli issue."
