Lebanon blast kills UN (Spanish) soldiers (UPDATED)
Topics: Lebanon, Middle East News and Perspectives, Terrorism, War on TerrorSix United Nations peacekeepers have been killed and several others wounded by an explosion in southern Lebanon, security officials say. The blast badly damaged two vehicles transporting Spanish peacekeepers from the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) near the border with Israel.
UDPATE: ... they were killed by a car bomb activated by remote control, and it is possible there were suicide bombers inside. The Minister of Defense has confirmed it was a "premeditated attack on the troops".
Three of the dead are Colombians, 3 Spanish. There are also 2 Spanish badly hurt.
