Amir Taheri: Talks with Iran Will Go Nowhere

Topics: Iran

Yesterday, John at Freedom's Zone, pointed to Amir Taheri's piece at Arab News in which he offers his views on the prospects for seeing results from the US talks with Iran. Readers will find it informative, with a bottom line that I for one have been waiting to here from a credible source such as Taheri:

Since 1979, the real question with regard to Iran has been simple: Should the world kowtow to the Khomeinist regime or should the Khomeinist regime accept the global rules of the game? Maybe it is time to provide a clear answer.
More at Arab News ...

The naiveté of the West, and especially American politicians who should know better, continues to fly in the face of the reality of an Islamic regime hell bent on the destruction of Israel and the West with a commitment to lie, cheat, deceive, and virtually do anything it deems necessary to accomplish Islamist rule over the entire planet.

You are perfectly safe to bet your last dollar that talks with Iran will continue to go nowhere, and Iran will continue to talk until it has nuclear weapons. Your bet is a sure win, but in the end, we all loose if we allow Iran to continue to employ al-taqiyya in order to accomplish it's objectives.

As Richard wrote in his Hyscience post back in the middle of last month: Look for Iran to now increase its "appearance" of negotiations to ease tensions to buy time for yet more negotiations. However, what it is really doing is performing in the tradition of al-Taqiyya:

"Al Taqiyya is with the tongue only; not the heart. A believer can make any statement as long as the 'heart is comfortable ..."; "God gave the believers freedom of movement by takiyya; therefore conceal thyself ..."; "Takiyya is a cloak for the believer: he who has no religion has no takiyya, associate your opponents only outwardly and oppose them inwardly."
The Islamic tradition of taqiyya stretches back to the sixth-century A.D. when, following disputes over succession after the Prophet Mohammed's death, the minority Shiites developed taqiyya, or "holy deception", to conceal their "true" beliefs from the Sunni majority and to maintain operational security for their jihad/ terrorist missions in the Dar el Haab--The Domain of War. (2)

Taqiyya is inspired by the example and sayings of the Prophet Mohammed praised in the Hadiths (the sayings of the Prophet) as "the greatest deceiver", and praised in the Koran. Muslims have used taqiyya (pronounced tark-e-ya) described variously as "precautionary dissimulation," "religiously-sanctioned deception," "lying" or "deception" and "keeping one's convictions secret" and "tactical dissimulation" or "holy deception".

A contemporary definition of taqiyya is religiously-sanctioned deception for the purposes of concealing terrorism. A nuclear bomb in the hands of the Islamists will be the terrorists greatest weapon and the world's greatest nightmare.
