Strife Foreseen in Iraq Exit, but Experts Split on Degree
Topics: IraqIt does appear, as Jules suggests, that the New York Times is attempting to rewrite history:
"As if every major news organization, the Democratic leadership in Congress, and quick-exit advocates had not been studiously ignoring that fundamental issue, when not actively disputing the notion that Iraq might explode in unimagineable violence and chaos if U.S. troops withdraw prematurely."It's either the NYT is finally "getting it" on Iraq, or, as Jules suggests, they're running for cover in panic, having up to now done everything a paper could possibly do to push a "U.S. out of Iraq" agenda.... In any case, it sounds like the panic we saw expressed in Congress' surrender last week is spreading. People who lack the will to do what they want to do are going to be looking for excuses to do the right thing.
Which is it? Surely, no one could possibly think that the NYT would ever slant the news to suit the liberal anti-war agenda!
Ahmm....
