Quote Of The Day
Topics: Understanding Islam"... If these people did something, then they deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law, but when the government says `Islamic militants,' it sends a message to the public that Islam and militancy are synonymous." - Sohail Mohammed, a lawyer who represented scores of detainees after the Sept. 11 attacks, speaking in reference to the accused Fort Dix Six who "allegedly" plotted the murder of as many U.S. soldiers as possible.Another view:
"The nature of the terrorist threat is unambiguously Islamic and is not so much a deviation from Muslim tradition as an appeal to it. Al Qaeda's ideology draws on two traditions to legitimize itself: one classical, the other modern." - International Herald TribuneNumber of deadly terrorist atttacks by Islamic terrorists since 9/11: 8,284

No problem here (see "Related" readings), I believe the public is beginning to get the message:
"... absolute tolerance is ultimately suicidal, particularly with a religion that rarely reciprocates and has never been known to give back what it takes without bloodshed and heartache. If Americans expect to leave the freedom and values they enjoy to future generations, then they must cease making concessions to the imperialists of Islam, who have nothing more than their own interest at heart.Sohail Mohammed, the above- quoted lawyer who represented scores of detainees after the Sept. 11 attacks, and terrorist-supporting Muslim organizations such as CAIR, clearly have "have nothing more than their own interest at heart."
In the case of CAIR, it has not even bothered to acknowledge - much less condemn - over 99% of the bloody acts of deadly terror that are meted out on the world in the cause of Islam. Not including the 200,000 Darfurians lost to the Janjaweed Jihad, the Religion of Peace has stabbed, blasted, hacked, stoned or shot to death close to 200 innocent people in 30 attacks, on average, each week since September 11th, yet CAIR has declined specifically to denounce all but a tiny handful.
While many Muslims are indeed peaceful, and suffer greatly and/or are intimidated by more militant fundamentalist Muslims, nonetheless a very large and growing number of Muslims are not peaceful and do in fact support violence in the name of Islam. Absolute intolerance is definitely suicidal.
