"Jihad" And "War On Terror" Not Terms In Obama's Lexicon
Topics: Political News and commentariesAccording to a report on the Washington Post, Senator, and media darling Democratic presidential hopeful, Barack Obama, in a 40 minute address to the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, talked about what his foreign policy would be like were he to be elected president. Apparently, for someone often praised as "articulate," and as well spoken and not prone to using "ebonics" like most of his fellow black Democrats, as Obama, yet there seems not to be such terms as "Jihad" and or "War on Terror" in his "Alice in Wonderland" politically correct multi-culturalist lexicon.
In Obama's view, America's foreign policy should center on a continued leadership around the world that sharply differs from the one in place now by the present Administration in substance as well as in tone. Though doing lip service to our having a continued strong defense, his way of solving most foreign conflicts seems to boil down to our doubling the amount of foreign aid we give other nations - in other words bribe our way around, much as Clinton and his lapdog Madeleine Albright did during the Clinton Administration.
In the Washington Post article it is noted that not once in his speech did Obama mention the "War on Terror," but more conspicuously he did not mention "Islam" or the threat posed by Islamic extremism, and how we should deal with it, quote:
"Perhaps unsurprisingly, he [Obama] does not use the phrase 'war on terrorism.' More remarkably, he doesn't mention Islam, much less Islamic extremism -- which Mr. Bush has described as a critical ideological threat to freedom inside and outside the Muslim world. Mr. Obama's advisers point out that much of the speech is directly or indirectly devoted to strategies to combat terrorists, counter their recruitment, and rescue failed or failing states. Still, Mr. Obama ought to explain more directly how he views Jihadism. Is it an ideological challenge comparable to communism and fascism, as Mr. Bush contends, or merely an esoteric dogma held by bands of criminals, like the anarchism of the early 20th century? Is terrorism the central threat of the early 21st century, or, as some Democratic strategists argue, merely one of a panoply of challenges that include global warming, pandemics and the rise of China?"
This is a sad reminder of that old saying that "there are non so blind as those who will not see..."
The questions posed in the Washington Post article are extremely pertinent in these perilous times we live in, facing as we do the mounting threat of Isalmofacist terror and violence, and even the possibility of their using weapons of mass destruction against an unsuspecting civilian population.
The disaster of last November's elections and all the dire consequences that have followed, should be a stark reminder to us Americans that when we go behind the curtain of that voting booth to vote in the 2008 presidential elections, we will most likely be making a "life and death" decision for untold others, and that by pulling on that lever we will be holding their thousands upon thousands of lives in our collective hands...perhaps even our own and that of our loved ones!
But frankly, it should not come as any surprise that Senator Obama would fail to address such issues. Consistently his position, and that of the leftist, secularist, liberals and of most Democrats, is that Jihad is a relativistic term, and that there is no such thing as a "War on Terror."
Of course there is no Jihad in Obama's "Alice" multi-culturalist, secularist, let's all hold hands (except with hated conservatives) and sing Kumbaya "Wonderland"!
When he looks through that "looking glass" of his - even if he had those rabid Jihadist supporters that protested the Pope's comments in London with signs that read: "DEATH TO THOSE WHO INSULT ISLAM", "WE WILL KILL YOU ALL", "THE WEST WILL SUCCUMB", and "DEATH TO ALL INFIDELS" jumping and shouting in front of his face - all he sees are "peace loving" Muslims of the "Religion of Peace" (don't make me barf!) engaging in an esoterical "Spiritual Jihad" of self-discovery and enlightenment!
To Obama, as with Edwards, there is no such thing as Jihad or a "War on Terror" - warmongering Bush and Cheney made it all up after 9/11 to have an excuse to invade Iraq and get us into this mess.
According to them, and their fellow loons on the left that think as they do, terrorism is a law enforcement matter that doesn't warrant our overreacting and involving our military. A couple of FBI agents and a couple of New York cops waltzing-in with warrants into the Al-Qaeda strongholds in Afghanistan and arresting Bin Laden would have sufficed!
And this is the man who would lead America in what may be the most crucial time in our nation's history? May God have mercy on us if he gets elected, and duck for cover!

We may not solve warfare or famine in your time. But the cure of all disease may be within our grasp. Imagine the if the trillions spent on "Wars of Choice" or "Wars against a concept" was spent testing every natural and artifical substance known to man against every disease known to man. Imagine if we spent the remainder on determinining the molecular structure and sequencing the genes of every disease so that we could construct cures that while harmless and inert to ourselves, are deadly and irrestible to the viruses, anti-viruses, and bacterias that plague us. War is not the triumph of God. War is the failure of men. Though there are necessary wars such as World War II, most wars could be prevented. For instance, if we stopped buying oil from Saudi Arabia, the money that finances terrorism would dry up and the so called "War Against Terror" would be over. It is instructive to note that no major politician has as his chief goal, destroying terrorism in this way. Perhaps they don't really want it to stop....And besides, every major politican is getting bought by foreign oil interests and domestic big oil. We could easily use coal and nuclear energy to be free of those who fund terrorism. Unfortunately, the politicians have yet to find a way to get paid if we switch to domestic energy sources. Every pundit who says we can't switch to domestic energy is also on they pay roll of big oil and foreign oil interests.
