Go Ahead - Question His Patriotism

Topics: Political News and commentaries

murtha_surrender.jpgJay Tea is trying very hard not to question John Patrick "Jack" Murtha, Jr.'s patriotism, but he is indeed questioning his record, integrity, intelligence, judgement, and constitutional knowledge. The struggle to not question "Surrender Jack's" patriotism isn't a new one, as I recall Paul going through the same exercise at Powerline back in June 06 at which time he said, "Just to be clear, I'm not questioning John Murtha's patriotism. I'm questioning his ethics."

John, also at Powerline, added, "Mad Jack Murtha is one of the most disgraceful members of Congress, in a class with William Jefferson, Cynthia McKinney and Maxine Waters.

On the other hand, being but a simple South Georgia farm boy raised to know a mad dog when it bites me on the a**, and not given to wanting to work so hard at being kindly to those who are out to hurt me, my loved ones, or my country, I'm of a mind to call Mad Jack Murtha the way I see him: an irrelevant old man that puts his politics before his country, trashes U.S. troops, gives propaganda to the enemy, and before the facts were ever known - stated that the Marines had "killed innocent civilians in cold blood." I hate to say this of a fellow Marine, but if you don't call this being unpatriotic, just what the hell do you call it?

A reader of Jay's excellent post commented the following on Wizbang:

"I keep seeing people say you can't challenge the patriotism of people like Kerry and Murtha because 'they served'."

"So what?"

"Most famous traitor in American history is Benedict Arnold. Guess what. He served too. In fact he was a general and his actions were instrumental in keeping the revolution alive."

"If we can questions Arnolds patriotism why not the lowly Kerry or Murtha?"

So poignantly true, Waste!

Saddly, if the standard applied to today's traitorous Democrats were actually to be applied to Benedict Arnold, he but would be a "patriotic dissenter" of that other "George's (Washington's) War" and worthy of standing shoulder to shoulder, in the Pantheon of "Our Founding Fathers," with them!

The actions, and the betrayal, of Kerry, Murtha, Reid, and their ilk, speaks for itself! Need I say more?
