Fighting Words: 'God Is Not Great' And Islam Is 'A Set Of Ill-Arranged Plagiarisms'

Topics: Understanding Islam

Surely Christopher Hitchens has joined the dubious club of those who are safe only while in a very secure and undisclosed location. After all, criticizing Islam these days can cost one his head, so it doesn't require much imagination to think what can happen when you question "whether Islam is a separate religion at all" and say that Islam is "not much more than a rather obvious and ill-arranged set of plagiarisms, helping itself from earlier books and traditions as occasion appeared to require."
