Libby Found Guilty On 4 Of 5 Counts

Consider this my obligatory "Scooter Libby found guilty" post, in what has to be the most ridiculous and most politically motivated (on the part of the Democrats) trial in the history of the nation. We can expect the left side of the blogosphere (like at Firedoglake) is going to go crazy with glee and the generation of a truck load of conspiracy theories. The MSM already is in a state of rabid excitement:

MSNBC says Jury convicts Libby on four of five charges: "Former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was convicted Tuesday of obstruction, perjury and lying to the FBI in an investigation into the leak of a CIA operative's identity."

The AP has Jurors Reach Verdict in CIA Leak Case: "Jurors reached a verdict Tuesday in the trial of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, a former White House aide accused of lying and obstructing an investigation into the leak of a CIA operative's identity.

From CNN we have Scooter Libby guilty on four of five counts: "Former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby has been found guilty on four of five counts in his perjury and obstruction of justice trial. -- Libby was convicted of: -- obstruction of justice when he intentionally deceived ..."

And the WaPo has Libby Found Guilty in CIA Leak Case: "... A federal jury today convicted I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby of lying about his role in the leak of an undercover CIA officer's identity, finding the vice president's former chief of staff guilty of two counts of perjury, one count of making false statements ..."

Meanwhile, Hot Air has videos of Libby's attorneys statement to the press, and leave it to The Political Pit Bull to put this into perspective with: "I'm not shocked he was convicted, he's a Republican. I've got my money on the prediction that it will be a cold day in h*ll before Representative "Cold Cash" Jefferson will even be charged."

James Joyner believes Libby faced a jury pool that was ideologically stacked against him, and I agree.

Libby's found guilty of a poor memory while William 'Dollar Bill" (Cold Cash) Jefferson gets appointed to the Homeland Security committee by Pelosi. Go figure!
