Number Of Catholics Surpass Anglicans In UK As Plans Are Revealed For Anglicans To Reunite With The Roman Catholic Church
Topics: EurabiaA few days ago The Times reported that the number of Roman Catholics in the UK would surpass the number of Anglicans for the first time since the Reformation, primarily due to massive migration from Catholic countries across the world. Today, El Presidente at Slapstick Politics points to what he refers to as a "shocker": A plan to reunite Anglicans with the Roman Catholic Church under the leadership of the Pope.
Personally, I don't find this to be much of a surprise, at least so far as the UK is concerned. The plan surely will have detractors in the UK and in other countries, but I believe that demographics are on the side of a reuniting of the Anglicans and the Roman Catholic Church in the UK at least (the Bishop of Canterbury hasn't endorsed the insanity of the American Anglicans). And in referring to demographics being the basis for the unity plan, we're not talking just Catholic immigrants, but a strategic response as well, given the huge influx of Muslims into Europe and the increasing militancy of the Islamists.

Meanwhile the C. of E. - a branch of the intelligentsia, like the BBC - has bent and swayed with every puffof passing fashion."
