Is Obama Racist? A Politically Incorrect Rant On Obama's Embrace Of Dr. Byrd's "The Black Value System" And Its Significance

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Is Obama a racist? Well, at least it is safe to say, that as almost the totality of black American politicians, he's at least milking the race card for all it's worth. It is also very possible that, unfortunately, he may carry an "it's a black thing" chip on his shoulder, as so many other black Americans do.

But it is worth noting that on a recent TV interview where Obama's wife appeared with him on the program, when asked if she did not worry that Obama's meteoric ascension to fame and recognition, and his presidential aspirations, made him more vulnerable, and exposed him to the increasing possibility of his becoming the target of an assassination attempt by some loon or racist bigot out there, as often happens with all public figures, she disingenuously replied with the usual, under-the-belt "black victimization" retort, that "it did not bother her, since anyway Obama put his life in danger every time he walked down the street, just because he is black." Hmmm, and I would have thought that by now Obama was living in a nice uppity plush neighborhood, where you would not get mugged by black "Gangstas" or the "Boyz in the Hood," but oh well!

Yet, it should not come as a surprise that our distinguished black Senator from Illinois would enthusiastically embrace, and practice, Dr. Byrd's "The Black Value System." After all, it, in one shape or another has been the political Bible and game plan, to which almost all black, or should I say "Afro-American" politicians (though being black does not obviously make you a hyphenated descendant of African slaves, nor even remotely related to Africa - LUCY and or other ancient ancestral Australopithecine hominids notwithstanding) subscribe, and its precepts have permeated the black political experience in America, even long before Dr. Byrd compiled such precepts and strategies in his notorious Manifesto of 1981.

As Dan Riehl, of Riehl World View, points out, Dr. Byrd's "The Black value System," though it has many prudent ideas for anyone, is patently not for everyone, but for blacks. And yes, it is valid to ask, particularly in this day and age of a supposedly "color blind" and politically correct America, how racist and separatist that actually is! Of course, reverse racism against whites and non-African-Americans is considered by many Afro-American activists as an affirmation of African-American values and or as justifiable "Affirmative Action" or "Reparations," so what else can we expect?

But let us analyze some of the premises of Dr. Byrd's racist Manifesto and extrapolate some of its evident parallels in the present politics of America.

For instance, Dr. Byrd's disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness" :

"Classic methodology on control of captives teaches that captors must keep the captive ignorant educationally, but trained sufficiently well to serve the system. Also, the captors must be able to identify the "talented tenth" of those subjugated, especially those who show promise of providing the kind of leadership that might threaten the captor's control."

This is eerily reminiscent of that much cherished tenet of Afro-American blackness, "Perpetual Victimization," which always finds a way of placing the blame for all of their shortcomings, their failures, and even their internecine bestiality and inhumanity with one another, on the "white devil," and seeks to perpetuate the separateness and disparity between those who remain self-victimized within the Afro-American community and its mores, and the increasingly multi-ethnic culture that surrounds them, instead of helping them overcome their shortcomings, help them elevate themselves, and to become integrated and productive members of the community to their advantage, as we can see in Dr. Byrd's own words:

"Killing them off directly, and/or fostering a social system that encourages them to kill off one another.Placing them in concentration camps, and/or structuring an economic environment that induces captive youth to fill the jails and prisons.Seducing them into a socioeconomic class system which while training them to earn more dollars, hypnotizes them into believing they are better than others and teaches them to think in terms of "we" and "they" instead of "us."

In other words, always blame it on the "whitey."

Dr. Byrd goes on to say in his Manifesto that "We are an African people, and remain 'true to our native land,' the mother continent..."

And this inevitably begs the question of whether someone like Obama, allegedly holding such racist, black separatist, views as Dr. Byrd's, and supposedly like him, avowedly holding his allegiance not to America, but to a race, an ethnicity, and to a mostly fictionalized ancestral Homeland (where in fact today blacks are still enslaving and butchering each other enthusiastically without "whitey's" help), is qualified to lead our diverse and multi-ethnic nation.

As for Obama's legendary "articulateness," though he is indeed a well spoken man, it is very simple: He amazingly speaks in public using proper English, and not "Ebonics." Indeed, what an accomplishment, and an achievement that is...along with his long political career of 18 months!

Incidentally, and much apropos to such "black victimization" at work, welfare pimp, and so called "Reverend," Al Sharpton, recently made much of a stink in public, claiming he was "shocked" and "surprised," after he found out that one of his ancestors, his paternal great-grandfather Coleman Sharpton, had once been the property of Julia Thurmond, who was the granddaughter of the also great-great-grandfather of his late Colleague, the segregationist Senator from South Carolina Strom Thurmond, after genealogists for an outfit doing a piece on Sharpton's roots did not find "Kunta Kinte," but a document that proved that the late Senator Thurmond's several times removed cousin had once owned Sharpton's proto-progenitor.

Upon finding out, Sharpton immediately took to the TV cameras whining the usual "victimization" harangues about the ills of slavery, and how to this day (after almost two centuries) he and his fellow African-Americans are still traumatized (?), and remain deeply affected by the experience, complaining about the promised "mule and forty acres of land" the freed slaves never got (as if politicians have ever kept their promises regardless of the period), and notwithstanding that though they may not have gotten the "forty acres of land," at least eventually they got their "mule" : Sharpton's beloved Democrats (though I know that technically it is more of a lame donkey).

In retrospect, one has to wonder in hindsight (and of course hindsight is 20/20), taking Reverend Sharpton's outstanding record at shamelessly playing the "race card" at every turn, of his perpetuating the black "victimization" mentality and ensuing black self-alienation, as well as the welfare "Status Quo" of underachievement within the Afro-American community, for his own political gains and ambitions, if Miss Julia Thurmond may not have indeed done the Afro-American community, and indeed all America, an invaluable favor, had she castrated Coleman Sharpton before he had any descendants! Unfortunately what is done is done (as well as what was not done remains undone) and it all is but water under the bridge.

In the meantime, such black Reverends as Sharpton, Jackson, Dr. Byrd, and their ilk who use the pulpit of black churches as political soap boxes from which to continue to aggrandize themselves and achieve their personal political objectives, will ensure that "black victimization" remains alive and well, that the substantial number of black Americans in their constituencies remain mired in their welfare Ghettos and drug and violence ridden "Projects" hells, remain ill schooled and alienated, wallowing in self-pity and underachievement, while blaming all their ills and (ironically) "separateness on the "white man," enthralled by the 'Gangsta Rap' sub-culture of drugs and violence, with the traditional black family unit on the virtual verge of societal extinction, with unwed mothers, and declining birth rates, and not the least due in part by the current "fad" among young black males of shunning black women in favor of white women (apparently no matter how fat, ugly, or disgusting these "trophy" white females may be), which, like buying the latest "Nikes," has become a sort of "status" symbol in the Rap sub-culture. Makes you wonder if their concept of Dr. King's dream is this:

"I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves, our 'homies,' will be doing the daughters of former slave owners, your slutty white 'biaches'...."

You know, it may be the way the cookie crumbles nowadays, but somehow it sure doesn't sound right...especially for the myriad black single mothers left behind.

You seem kind of confused. On the one hand, you deplore black separatism, but on the other hand you imply that the ills of the black community should be solved by blacks! Hmmm...

I mean, if you really believed in America as a unified society, shouldn't you see problems in the black community as AMERICAN problems and not just black problems?

Instead, you say, blacks should solve these problems. Instead, you should be saying "we" should solve these problems.

Perhaps you are the separatist.
