Barry Obama: Call Me Barrack - My Grandfather Was A Muslim - 'It Means Blessed In Arabic'

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Oh well, that was in 1995. But in the campaign trail during his 2004 Senate race, Obama told reporters that "Barack" was Swahili for "blessed by God." Next thing we'll hear is that his real last name is O'bama, and he's Irish!

No biggy though. Mike Allen says at Politico that Obama's about to endure a going-over that would make a proctologist blush, so we can expect some of these little matters to be addressed by his opponents.

Obama, like other politicians, likes to use his heritage and faith as a political tool to attract voters. We read that he takes his "faith seriously" but apparently not enough to effect his life in any tangible manner. You can be that if being a Muslim was popular, Obama would use his background to its fullest.

No question about it. He'd be wearing it on his sleeve instead of downplaying his background.

Obama is soon to learn that running for president is a whole new game.

Swahili and Arabic have many words in common, including Barak

I loved the comments on that posting. Politico does a great job of pi$$ing off liberals. The truth must hurt or they wouldn't get so peeved.

I liked the comment "Obama's about to endure a going-over that would make a proctologist blush." It speaks to the extent of scrutiny that he's going to go through and already is beginning to get edgy, as evidenced by his retort to the Aussie PM and anti-war hecklers in a speech at his home town.
