Our Soldiers Speak Up From Iraq. If Only America Would Listen!

Topics: Iraq

While changing channels to get to Fox News, I happened momentarily upon CNN, and sure enough, there was Wolf Blitzer in his Situation Room, with the usual negative sensationalist banners flashing on the bottom of the screen, spewing his daily diet of pessimistic, defeatist, "quagmire," "chaos in Iraq / Bush's failed policies" leftist propaganda, with the habitual recycled footage of gore and carnage in Iraq playing in the background. Disgusted, I changed the channel.

This is the way CNN, The New York Times, and the rest of the so-called "elite" media affected the outcome of last November's elections, an endeavor in which they were joined by Hollywood and the entertainment industry; with the likes of Jon Stewart, and Bill Maher, who used their supposedly comedic medium to engage in nothing but continuous, unrelenting, "Bush bashing / Bush hating Fests" in their programs; viciously undermining with their loaded sarcasms all of the policies of the Administration, and promoting their leftist, anti-war, secularist agendas in support of the Democrats; in what amounted to nothing more than openly brazen "propaganda," rather than political humor.

For endless months they have bombarded the American public, night after night, 24/7 with their unrelenting message of naysaying, all their sensationalistic, pessimistic, negative coverage in Iraq, with the unceasing, horrendous, images of chaos, bloodshed, and destruction - many of which on closer inspection show to have been recycled and did not even correspond to the actual events of the day they were so negatively, and assiduously reporting on.

Being unrelentingly hammered nightly thus, by such a concerted barrage, is it any wonder then, that with an American electorate more preoccupied in who got booted out of Survival Island, or who won the latest round on American Idol, many of whom must rush to take their "Attention Deficit Disorder" medication if they watch two episodes of Family Guy in a row, that the elections went the way they did?

And what is amazing, is that whenever someone asks one of our brave young men and women serving in Iraq - who are putting their lives on the line while the hate-America naysayers and defeatists, cowering comfortably behind the safety of our borders, would betray them as in Viet Nam, wish to withdraw support for them in Congress, and would have them retreat in defeat and disgrace invalidating the sacrifice of all those who have died in this noble endeavor - when you ask one of our young soldiers about what is really going on there, invariably the picture they paint of what they see and experience day to day with their very own eyes is quite different to what the CNN et al has shown us every night and shoved down our throats.

That is why I felt like it was a breath of fresh air, when on tonight's Hannity & Colmes, on Fox, Sean Hannity, who had been secretly visiting with our young Heroes serving in Iraq for three days, brought back this footage, which I urge everyone to see:

I was particularly awestruck by how articulate, educated, and well spoken our young soldiers were in the segment, and how intelligently they presented their views and observations - in spite of what Senator Kerry and the lefties may say negatively about them in their elitist condescension as to their education and choices, simply because they chose to serve their country (Kerry's grades in college are certainly not something he can be proud of); an idea which seems incomprehensible to the hate-America Kerry crowd! I was particularly impressed by a young black soldier who spoke very eloquently, and who told Senator Kerry, politely but firmly, what he thought of his recent offensive comments about our troops.

It is amazing how perceptive of the real import of the situation we are in, and of the dangers we are facing as a nation, these young soldiers interviewed by Sean Hannity were, how knowledgeable, and how committed they all are to the mission they are trying to accomplish!

It is a slap in the face of the cut-and-run defeatists, and the Democrats, when one of them best summed it up by saying: "We will win this war, unless the politicians in Washington pull us out." What commitment and courage on the part of these young Heroes! May God Bless and keep them!

This is what should be shown the American public, and not the CNN leftist, venomous, propaganda our media spews night after night.

Alan Colmes was naturally seething! Just to see the ill disguised rage on his prune-like effeminate face at what our young soldiers were saying was priceless! At one point, earlier in the program with Oliver North, he tried to interject one of his subversive poisonous comments, but was immediately rebuked by the young soldier being interviewed by Ollie, to his chagrin! What a joy to see!
