When Politicians Act Like Politicians

Topics: Iraq

.... you have a document leaked to the press a week prior to it's official release, as in the report from the Iraq Study Group.

Why am I not surprised? After reading it, one takes away nothing from it except that it's a classic Washington compromise. Worse, individuals involved in the ISG's deliberations say that the bulk of the report focuses on a recommendation that the U.S. devise a far more aggressive diplomatic initiative in the Middle East, including direct engagement with Iran and Syria.

Great idea. Let's discuss compromise, reason with, negotiate, and trust agreements made with people who have an uncompromising, unreasonable, and illogical ideological agenda to destroy Israel and the West and take over the world for Alllah. To hell with the fact that these governments have, as an integral part of their religious belief, a built in concept for lying to further the cause of Islam (al-taqiyya) and to defeat the un-believers (that's you and me).

Sound reasonable to you? Good job, ISG!

So how do I really feel about the ISG, and the leak? I go along with Dan Riehl's very sophisticated, and accurate, perspective: "Exactly the type of worthless watered down piece of crap one would expect from a bi-partisan commission."
