They Still Don't Get It

Perhaps nothing explains the GOP's problem better than this picture of clowns and the comment made by Whip Rep. Roy Blunt of Missouri:
Mr. Blunt said the Nov. 7 loss was an "opportunity to redefine who we are, to provide the kind of alternatives that we want to provide, to look toward the future [and], frankly, to get rid of the bad habits that we may have developed in 12 years in the majority."These people are simply incapable of understanding that "redefining who they are" (read - spinning the truth, as the Dems have proven to be so good at) and "getting rid of bad habits" haven't a prayer of affecting the current problems of the GOP and its relationship with it's base.
What these people fail to comprehend is that redefining who they are isn't the problem, it's what they are. And as far as getting rid of GOP bad habits is concerned, they are the bad habit.
Base to GOP - kiss off, and good riddance. Expect 08 to be a repeat of 06, or worse. The GOP continues to work fast and furiously for permanent minority status.
