On Massachusetts' Botched Joke

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Jules Crittenden at BostonGlobe.com comes through with one of the best takes on Kerry's Freudian slip, essentially saying that after all is said and done about the Kerry "botched joke," the only real joke in all of this turns out to be Kerry himself:

John Kerry says he's sorry he botched his joke about Iraq, and now he has apologized to anyone who was offended. He meant to make fun of the president of the United States, not the soldiers. It wasn't very funny that way, either. The wags have already noted that Bush in fact performed better than Kerry at Yale. None of this would be more than a momentary embarrassment. But the botched joke we're stuck with in Massachusetts, and the nation as a whole, is a backbencher's lackluster career, which has been elevated far beyond his worth. And his failure to recognize that he is irrelevant on the national stage.
Now if only the rest of the Dems would recognize the same thing. Kerry's disdain for the military, as a standard bearer of the Democratic party, speaks volumes as to the animus of the Left that permeates throughout most of the Dems. In terms of fighting and winning the war on terror, most of the rest of the Dems are no better than Kerry in offering up nothing but propaganda for the radical Islamics throughout the world to use as propaganda against us.

Vote R on November 7 as though your life depends on it - because it does!
