Nations Named 'Enemies of the Internet'

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Thirteen nations have been named "enemies of the Internet" for restricting speech and suppressing freedom of expression. Fifty four percent of the countries are Islamic. More than 60 cyber-dissidents are currently imprisoned around the world for expressing themselves online, and in many countries citizens can be imprisoned for what they post to a Web site or even send to a mailing list.

As you'd expect, Iran and Egypt are both on the list.
