Kidnapping of Americans Linked to al Sadr
Topics: IraqIt's inconceivable that we haven't already taken this guy out, but Robert Spencer says Al-Sadr can wage jihad against the U.S. with impunity because he knows a decisive strike against him is "virtually inconceivable." Why?
It also seems clear that Al-Sadr has friends among the new Iraqi police force: Military Officials say "Kidnapping of Americans Linked to al Sadr ...
Am I the only one wondering why we continue to tie the hands of our troops and deny them the right to strike the targets that will bring about the most destruction to the Shi'ite militia? Let's remember that we allowed al-Sadr to become what he is today through our passivity, and we have come to regret the fact that U.S. and Iraqi forces passed on a chance to arrest al-Sadr two years ago.
It doesn't seem to me to be rocket science that you can't have powerful militias controlling large parts of a country and claim to have a democracy.
